Help with Uggs?

I just got a new pair of Uggs and I’m unsure how to properly care for them. They’re already looking a bit worn, and I don’t want to ruin them. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

First off, congrats on the new Uggs! It’s all about making them last, here’s what I’ve found works best.

Cleaning:

  1. Brush Off Dirt: Use a suede brush to gently brush off any surface dirt. Always dry brush!
  2. Use a Cleaner: I swear by the UGG Brand Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner. Just remember to dilute it with water as the label says.
  3. Blot Stains: For stubborn spots, blot with a damp cloth (don’t rub!). Please don’t use soap, it can be too harsh.
  4. Dry Properly: Stuff the insides with paper towels to keep the shape. Let them air-dry in a cool spot—no heaters or sunlight.

Water Repellent:

Get the UGG Protector Spray. Apply it when they’re new, and reapply every few months. Keeps them looking fresh and shields them from light rain.

Storage:

When not in use, store them in a cool, dry place. Away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. You might even like the UGG Protector Storage Pouch.

Avoid:

  1. Wet Conditions: Uggs aren’t rain boots. If they get soaked, it’s pretty much game over.
  2. Direct Heat: No hairdryers or radiators, it’ll mess with the sheepskin.

Keep these tips in mind, and your Uggs should stay looking great. If they still look worn, maybe it’s just a natural patina. Enjoy them!

For sure! UGGs can be tricky but so worth taking care of.

:athletic_shoe: Different Cleaning Method: I’ve had good luck with a mix of water and white vinegar for tougher stains. Lightly blot it & let them air-dry. Works wonders!

:cloud_with_rain: Rainy Days: Definitely keep them away from water. Consider getting waterproof boots or rain boots for wet days, swap 'em out.

:arrows_counterclockwise: Rotate Use: Don’t wear the same pair of Uggs every single day. Give them at least a day to bounce back to their original shape and stop the insides from getting too damp.

:ice_cube: Dealing with Odor: Baking soda! Sprinkle some inside, leave overnight and shake out in the morning. Keeps them fresh.

:droplet: Alternative Water Spray: While UGG’s spray is good, I’ve used Nano Protector Spray previously. Impressively guarded against light rain n spills.

Lastly, Fixing Creases: fill the boots with paper to their brim & use a damp cloth over the creases, not direct heat though. Let it dry naturally.

Taking these extra steps will hopefully make your UGGs last that much longer!

Hey there! Yeah, Uggs can be a bit tricky, but you gotta love that cozy feeling. More than worth the effort to keep them pristine. Check out my take:

Pro Tip on Dirt:

For quick daily dirt removal, a lint roller—yes, the kind you use for pet hair—works wonders in a pinch. Gently roll it over the surface before brushing.

Cleaner Alternatives:

While the UGG Brand Sheepskin Cleaner and Conditioner is a top-notch choice, a DIY mix of equal parts baking soda and cornstarch can be a lifesaver for smaller, annoyingly stubborn stains. Sprinkle it on, let it sit for a couple of hours, then brush off. Voila!

Water Repellency:

Besides the UGG Protector Spray, cons: it can be a bit pricey, pros: it’s totally worth it. Competitor sprays like Scotchgard are also good but sometimes leave a bit of a residue, IMHO.

Warm Conditions:

Looks like @kakeru and @yozora have got the avoidance pinned right but hey, if they get slightly wet, don’t freak out. Stuff them with crumpled newspaper, which dries faster and helps to maintain the shape too.

Storage & Shape:

Shoe trees – they can be a game-changer for maintaining that structure. Yes, they’re on the pricier side, but if you love your Uggs, they’re worth the investment.

Rotation:

Super important! And I’ve gotta say again, give them a break. Even your beloved Uggs need to breathe.

Bonus Hack for Creases:

If those creases drive you nuts, you can also try a steam iron on very low heat with a cloth barrier. Just don’t let it touch the actual material!

Conclusion:

Love, and care are essential for Ugg longevity, yes, it’s a bit of work, but the comfort pays off. Happy wearing!
